My son was just diagnosed with Molluscum?

I was just at the doctors today and what my son has on his scrotum is Molluscum. He has 2 pimple like spots and they have been there for a while. We don't see the dermatologist till march 1. The dr said they don't so much for it and it will clear on it's own. He did say the dermatologist may freeze them off but since it's in a highly sensitive area we will have to wait and see. Can anyone tell me what they did to help speed along the healing process? Is there anything that you used that will dry them up? I have 2 more weeks to see the dr. I am concerned too because he starts daycare tomorrow and I wasn't sure if they will send him home with a contagious disease. Although it's covered up with a diaper, I will have to wait and see tomorrow. Any ideas how kids get this stuff? My other sons don't have it. Could it be caused by a scratch that got infected???
